A traditional form of medicine originating from the Dravidian culture, Siddha uses herbs, foliages and other natural resources to cure a number of diseases and conditions. The Siddha Hospital and Research Institute here was established in the year 1991, with a vision of providing effective and affordable medical aid to everyone. Health care services are being provided through the Out Patient Department at a very low cost. Siddha medicines are also made here by experienced persons and are made available to the patients at the pharmacy.

Around 150 Siddha medicines are prepared here and are available at the pharmacy. Research on Siddha practices and medicines is being done constantly.
An experienced Varma therapist visits the centre twice a week to treat patients. Massage and Varma therapy are given to patients if required.
Free medical camps are conducted at the centre on Wednesdays and second Saturdays of every month. Yoga classes are conducted in the evenings.
Extension centres of this hospital are located at R.S Puram and at Alandurai, a village situated about 25km away from the city of Coimbatore.
